Tapestry Crochet Egg Pattern: Free Beginner-Friendly Design

Ever wanted to create a wall tapestry or placemat in crochet featuring an egg? This free crochet egg pattern is beginner friendly, and uses tapestry crochet techniques to create an 8 x 11 crochet piece you can put in your house. 

Make this crochet egg pattern into a pillow by adding a back panel. Make it a wall hanging by adding a dowel. Or make it just to make it.

 SUPPLIES

  • 5mm crochet hook
  • Yarn needle
  • 300 yd Yarn A: Background (I used LionBrand 24/7 cotton)
  • 100 yd Yarn B: Egg white
  • 50 yd Yarn C: Egg yolk

INSTRUCTIONS

Start with a ch of 61 in A

→ Row 1: In the second ch from the hook, sc 60 A, (60) ch 1, turn

At the end of Row 49, tie off.

To attach to a dowel, crochet along the top edge around a dowel, or using a darning needle, wrap yarn around the dowel and through the first chain row at the top of the piece.
